How to Lose Weight Without Dieting?

Published by Julia under Weight Loss

By Lauren S Johnson

Losing unwanted pounds does not have to be a struggle. Some people are afraid to even approach weight loss because they fear strenuous physical activity and harsh diets. However, weight loss does not have to be scary. There are certain changes we can make in our daily lifestyles which can impact our weight tremendously, without dieting.

The first step towards weight loss is breakfast. Yes, consuming breakfast every single morning can help you lose weight. The mistake that a lot of people make is that by skipping breakfast they hope to shed some calories, but what actually happens is you end up overeating during lunch or snacking too much before lunch. So eat a healthy breakfast that will sustain you until lunch time. Closing your kitchen at night is another way to lose weight. This means that after dinner, during that eight o’clock movie you will not be snacking on potato chips. The same goes for beverages. Beware of sugar laden juices and sodas. As for your midday snacks, stick to fruit and vegetables. This particular food group is very beneficial when it comes down to weight loss because it is rich in hunger sustaining fiber. Eating lean protein with every meal is also beneficial because it keeps you feeling full longer.

Another way to lose weight without actually dieting is by reducing your portion sizes. Making your meals even 20% smaller can help you drop a few pounds. And if you are not a big fan of exercising, try walking more each day. Walk while on the telephone, walk in place during television commercials, and take your dog out for extra bathroom trips. There are countless ways that you can add more physical activity into your daily lifestyle without actually exercising. And the last step towards weight loss is purchasing products that are lighter in calories. Almost every single food out there is now available low fat, fat free, reduced fat, and lean. Simply make the switch. The food tastes the same, yet it’s better for you. So if you ever had a fear of dieting, try adopting these tips into your daily lifestyle and before you know it you will be ready to move on to more complex weight loss programs.

2 More Weight Loss Myths

Published by Julia under Myth Busters

By Kurt Naulaerts

If you try to lose weight then you may also be a bit frustrated. First of all there are so much weight loss programs and diets on the market that you get lost quickly. Also different weight loss experts have different views on the best way to get rid of body fat. And finally popular weight loss myths may lead you in the wrong direction. Let’s have a brief look at two of these myths.

1. Dairy products should be taken out of my diet completely.

Dairy products are a necessary part of every person’s diet and should never be eliminated completely, even if you are trying to lose weight. Instead of eliminating this important food group choose low fat and non-fat kinds of dairy products. This is especially the case for women who require the calcium that is found in rich supply in dairy products.
Research has now revealed the fact that getting enough calcium through the foods you eat and the beverages you consume can actually encourage the shedding of pounds. Drink up!

2. Willpower is the most important weapon in the fight to lose weight.

It is a commonly held belief that when it comes to losing weight and resisting the temptation to eat everything in sight that it is simply a matter of willpower. While willpower and a sense of self control, as well as discipline do play a role in whether or not we are able to loss weight or not, there are plenty of other factors at work as well.

What we weigh is based on a variety of factors, such as genetics, the culture we live in, our home and work environments, our lifestyle choices, our medical history, our attitude towards food and the condition of our health, including any health problems we have. If you leave everything up to your willpower then you are likely to fail at the weight loss game.

The good news in all of this is that eating a nutritious diet on a consistent basis and regular exercise can help a person to overcome the factors that may lean towards the negative side of the spectrum. I will let you in on the details at http://www.weightloss-aid.com

Weight Loss Myth
Skipping Meals Will Help Me in My Fight to Drop Pounds

Published by Julia under Myth Busters

By Kurt Naulaerts

Skipping meals to lose weight is definitely a weight loss myth. It can actually contribute to packing on more pounds! This is not what you want at all! When you go without eating a meal, your level of metabolism drops and you become very hungry as a result of not eating. When you eat again you will be inclined to eat too much. You will also not meet the daily calorie requirement that is essential for your good health.

Breakfast is the worst meal of the day to skip. Your body has fasted for many hours and upon rising it needs to be refueled. Just as a car cannot run without gas, your body cannot run without necessary fuel. Fuel for the body comes from the foods we eat.

People who eat a healthy breakfast are less likely to overeat later in the day. It is easier to lose weight, and to maintain a healthy weight if you start every day with a healthy breakfast.

The fuel that we need for our bodies to function properly comes from glucose. Glucose is a simple form of sugar that provides the body’s primary source of fuel. The brain and the central nervous system require glucose to do any type of activity. If you do not give your body the glucose it requires through the foods you consume then it will be forced to use stored carbohydrates as an alternative fuel source.

What makes for a healthy breakfast?

To start your day off right, aim for one serving of protein (which can be found in eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt and peanut butter), two servings of fruit (which helps to give you the recommended daily requirement of vitamins and minerals and helps to prevent constipation) and three servings of grain.

Oatmeal is a bulk dense food that is excellent for people who are trying to lose weight. Oatmeal slows down the digestive process and makes it possible for an individual to feel satiated for a longer span of time. It is also important that you get plenty of fiber at breakfast time as fiber helps keep the digestive process running smoothly.

A nutritious breakfast does not have to be complicated to be healthy. One suggestion that is simple and nutritious is two slices of whole grain bread with a tablespoon of peanut butter and a glass of orange juice. Another excellent meal for breakfast is a bowl of oatmeal or a high fiber cereal, a banana and a glass of low fat or skim milk.

Getting Started!

Published by Julia under General

Hello … thanks for stopping by, I’m working to get this site up and running so if it looks a little sparse for a few days - don’t worry - I’ll be adding as much as I can as often as I can.

My name is Julia and I have been making my living for many years as a marketing consultant. One of the hazards of my job is the amount of time I spend sitting on my rear end. I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life and having an office job hasn’t helped me much at all. I’ve tried every “fad” diet, taken all kinds of supplements and tried some really wacky exercise routines. I’m tired of the gimmicks and I’m tired of wasting time. That’s why I started this website. I want to share what I’ve learned over the years and to share in the things I’ve found that really do produce results.

Very soon I’ll have my recipe club newsletter ready to roll and I’ll have a link here for everyone to sign up. One of the benefits of signing up for the recipe newsletter will be the opportunity to contribute your own recipes.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to be hearing from you soon.
